but color is escape.

A story told
in structure
and colour

Each work in this series was created as an act of survival. Not metaphorically — literally. Every composition marks a state of mind, a moment in a journey from fragmentation to alignment.

The geometric language is not decoration. It is the only vocabulary precise enough to contain what could not be spoken.

Layers of myself, colliding and overlapping. Some parts clear, others blurred. The colors I once shared with another now return to me, fragile yet alive.

The Artist

Engineer
by training.
Artist
by necessity.

De Morais is the artistic name of Marcelo Aparecido de Morais Leite, a contemporary artist based in Munich.

With a background in civil engineering, his work explores the intersection between structural order and emotional disruption. Influenced by Constructivism, Neoplasticism, and Bauhaus philosophy, his compositions merge architectural discipline with expressive colour.

His works reflect on how planned systems interact with lived experience, revealing a constant negotiation between control and overflow.

He signs his work as De Morais — his mother's surname. A name chosen to honour her, and to draw a clear line between two worlds he inhabits: the artist and the gallerist.

"Our life, however much we plan it, overflows in moments beyond our control. Sometimes sad, sometimes joyful — but always defining who we are."
